Pasta Carbonara

Pasta Carbonara

Bacon, eggs and pasta? It is possible!
An easy Italian classic that’s sure to be a hit.

Approx Ingredients:
For 4 generous portions

  • 500g (1lb) Long Pasta (spaghetti)
  • 250ml (1 cup) Cream
  • 3 Eggs
  • 500g (1lb) Bacon
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Salt, Pepper, Nutmeg (to taste)

Boil a big pot of water with 1 tablespoon of salt
and add pasta.

Cut the raw bacon in squares and pan fry until crispy.
Use paper towels to drain the fat.

In a bowl, mix the cream, eggs, nutmeg and olive oil.
Add the bacon.
Cook pasta as directed on packaging. (7 to 10 minutes?)
Drain pasta and mix with the raw ingredients.
The heat from the pasta will cook the eggs.
Salt and pepper to taste and voilà!

fantastic website I must say! Same goes for your recipies! However the carbonara in my opinion does not need eggs whatsoever, and I also suggest you use Basciamella (or however you spell it) instead of cream. Other then that I’d prefer going for Basil rather then nutmeg.
